Receiving an award is always greatly satisfying. Awards acknowledge not so much the projects as the teams that make them possible. They reflect a job well done and work which is above the usual standard.
At Sacyr, we are especially proud of the four international awards received for the funding of the Pedemontana – Veneta motorway in Italy, which includes a senior notes issue for the amount of 1.221 billion euros and 350 million euros in subordinated bonds. In total, the investment for the construction of one of the major infrastructures in the country will amount to 2.566 billion euros.
This financing model has led to international recognition for Sacyr from different institutions which have appraised an ambitious project that will entail the construction of 162 kilometres of highway. The company forecasts revenue of 12 billion euros over the 39-year management period and an estimated traffic volume of 27,000 vehicles a day, which could rise to 60,000 in the last few years of the concession period.
Specifically, the awards received were the following: the Project Finance International 2017 award in the Best European Operation in the field of transport infrastructure category; the award for the best European public-private project (PPP) of the Infrastructure Investor Awards 2017; the prize for the best European financing of a road project at the IJ Global Awards 2017; and the Transport Project Finance of the Year award from TFX.
These four awards are four more reasons to keep on working and continue meeting the challenges we face day after day.
